sustainability
Minimising our carbon footprint.
Our minimal impact cabin is an entirely Scottish affair meaning, keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible. Designed in Edinburgh, built in Inverness and created from Sitka Spruce, homegrown in the Scottish Highlands. The raw timber was then transformed into high-performance cross-laminated timber (CLT) creating a highly insulated, sustainable structure.
The interiors and finishings in all our properties are carefully selected to ensure they are as local as possible with an equally sustainable ethos. From local artists who created the stunning crockery to nearby sheep farmers providing handmade woollen throws.
The estate’s woodlands help to capture around 2000 tonnes of carbon every year, over twice the amount generated, ensuring we are a carbon negative organisation.
